Ramadan around the corner

So yes we have ramadan around the corner ........ so what will we do this year to get ready ...... well so far its the cleaning that takes up the time as here in algeria most houses give a great clean as they dont have time during ramadan ........ so kitchens are done and that means walls and every nuck and cranny  that you can think of as well as bathrooms and toilet and other rooms in the house and with this all walls are washed down

but for me yes i do a good clean but i like to think of how ramadan  will benefit me and my family and how we can please allah in this time too

so insha`allah as a family we will once again read quran and revise the surahs we have learned and insha`allah we will also try to learn more

also insha`allah i`m hoping to meet a sister that i havent really meet yet but have spoken to many time on skype

so what are you ladies going to do to get ready this year

*!*Ramadan is coming*!_*!*

Ramadan is here, Here is Ramadan.
Ramadan is coming, The time that is blessed.
Ramadan is coming, The time we love best.
The month in which the Qur'an was sent;

A time of great blessing in which to repent.
Fasting for Allah is a great Muslim deed;
Controlling desires and Suppressing greed.

Ramadan is coming, Increase your Iman.

Ramadan is coming, Recite the Qur'an.
Taking "Suhur" in the dead of the Night;
No eating no drinking during the daylight.
Refrain from bad deeds and repent your soul;
The pleasure of Allah is our only goal.

Ramadan is coming, so let us prepare.
Ramadan is coming; there is peace everywhere,
Even if there is hunger, remember your Lord
And wait until 'Iftar' to earn your reward.
Fasting is one of the gifts of Allah
Given to believers to increase 'Taqwah'.

Ramadan is here, here is Ramadan.
Ramadan is coming, so seek the new Moon.
Ramadan is coming, it will be here soon.
We pray to Allah to put right our hearts;
Ask for forgiveness from Allah and make a new start.

Raising our hands we ask for his 'Rahmaa';
Hear us our Lord and grant us 'Jannah'.

Pocasi/ split green pea soup

Asalamu alikum Well it sure has been a long time since i posted so i thought let me share this Pocasi recipe with you while i remember This soup is made from split green peas first i wash the peas and then add them to my pot (i used a pressure cooker) i added onion ... garlic..... i diced up carrots ...courgettes...and potato into  really small bits and added to the pot i also added black pepper....salt ...cumin...and razel hanut.... fill with water and placed lid on  and allowed to cook about 30 to 40 mins in total ... then let the pressure out and open then  stir.... if you need more water add and allow to cook towards the end add some tomato puree and allow to thicken up a little .... when i make this i do not use oil and i should say that this type of soup will continue to thicken and even the next day you will need to add more water to thin out ... but masha`allah is a really nice soup
